How to write a skills section (with proof)
A credible skills section is short, grouped, and backed by experience bullets. It should help scanning — not replace evidence.
Recommended format
- • Languages: TypeScript, Python, SQL
- • Backend: Node.js, REST, GraphQL, Postgres
- • Cloud/Infra: AWS (Lambda, S3), Docker, CI/CD
- • Data: Airflow, BigQuery, dbt
Make it believable
- • Prefer skills that appear in your bullets (proof)
- • Avoid long, ungrouped lists (hard to scan)
- • Use the job description language where accurate
- • Remove “beginner” skills unless required for the role
